2nd volunteer firefighter faces charges after Pike Road fires
MONTGOMERY (AP) — A second volunteer firefighter faces arson and other criminal charges in connection with several fires in the Pike Road community near Montgomery.
Montgomery County Sheriff D.T. Marshall said Justin Gorman, 20, was charged Monday with five counts of arson, four counts of burglary and two counts of theft.
Gorman, who was arrested Saturday night, is also a suspect in another residential burglary in Montgomery on Christmas Eve. He was released from jail late Monday after posting a $35,000 bond. He was charged with arson for three fires set in November and two in December.
Jason Michael Green, a Pike Road volunteer and Montgomery firefighter, was charged Dec. 28 with one count of arson in connection with a fire that destroyed a barn last year.
“The case is ongoing, and more arrests are expected,” Marshall said.
