Priceville teenager killed in wreck

By Seth Burkett · 340-2355

PRICEVILLE — A Priceville teen killed in a car crash early Wednesday leaves behind a fiancée and child.

Justin Ryan Wilkinson, 17, died at the scene of the 7 a.m. wreck on Bethel Road about four miles south of Priceville, according to state troopers.

Wilkinson was driving north on Bethel Road, apparently on his way to his job, said Morgan County Coroner Russ Beard.

Wilkinson worked as parts manager at Discount Auto Parts in Priceville.

"All we know is that he was traveling at a high rate of speed, lost control of the vehicle, overturned when he hit a drainage ditch and was ejected," said Curtis Summerville, a state trooper spokesman.

The wreck remains under investigation.

Beard said the car apparently struck two trees after hitting the culvert.

Wilkinson, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown 15 or 20 yards from the vehicle. Blunt force trauma killed him instantly, Beard said.

No one else was involved in the accident, troopers said.

The son of Christy Wilkinson of Priceville, Justin Wilkinson is also survived by his fiancée, Allison Graves of Priceville, and his son, Tanner Ryan Wilkinson.

Funeral for Wilkinson will be Friday at Peck Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home. A full obituary appears here.
