UAB cancer center chamberís top priority
BIRMINGHAM (AP) — The Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerceís executive committee has voted to adopt a $125 million funding request by UAB as its top state legislative priority this year.
UAB hopes to expand its 34-year-old Comprehensive Cancer Center, adding 375 jobs.
The chamberís policy-making body in the past did not place priorities on individual items for its legislative agenda, weighing each of them equally, said chamber official Paul Vercher.
