ABC News reporter from Cotaco writes Supreme Court book

Bookstores began selling a book by a former Cotaco resident Tuesday.

Penguin Press published Jan Crawford Greenburg's "Supreme Conflict: The Inside Story of the Struggle for Control of the United States Supreme Court."

Greenburg's parents, Joe and Carolyn Crawford, live in Cotaco. Greenburg is a 1983 graduate of Brewer High School and a graduate of The University of Alabama.

Greenburg, who covers the Supreme Court for ABC News, appeared Sunday on "This Week with George Stephanopoulos," and Monday on "Good Morning America."

In his review in Tuesday's New York Times, Michiko Kakutani calls "Supreme Conflict" a "lively new book."

" 'Supreme Conflict' gives us a fascinating look at dynamics within the court, showing how personalities and ideology can affect alliances and debates," he wrote. "And it uses colorful details to flesh out the by now well-known story of (President) Bush's efforts to fill the seats vacated by the retiring Sandra Day O'Connor and the death of Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist."
