Hartselle councilman: Captain D's, Walgreens rumors false

HARTSELLE — Council President Kenny Thompson said rumors about Captain
D's Restaurant and Walgreens not coming to Hartselle are false.

"I went to breakfast the other morning and people just bombarded me with those rumors," he said. "They were accusing this council of not being business friendly and that's not
true. We have not killed any deals."

City Planner Jeremy Griffith said Captain D's has purchased a building permit and that the city is reviewing Walgreen's site plans.

"They are coming," Griffith said.

Thompson said he is tired of hearing rumors that the council is anti-business.

"We're going to do everything we can to grow the city," he
said.
