A stabbing that sent a man to the hospital with serious injuries sent another man to jail on serious charges, Decatur police said Wednesday.
Shortly after 6 p.m., police were called to a residence at 1708 Old Moulton Road
S.W., where they found 30-year-old Israel Montreal Foster bleeding from stab wounds to his shoulder and lower left chest, said Detective Chris Jones.
EMS personnel provided medical attention until MedFlight arrived, Jones said.
Taken to Westgate
An ambulance took Foster to the nearby parking lot of Westgate Shopping Center on West Moulton Street, where MedFlight picked him up and carried him to Huntsville Hospital.
Foster underwent surgery late Wednesday.
While Foster's exact condition remained unknown, his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, Jones said.
Police arrested Al Versity Minor, 56, of 1214 Skyview Drive S.W. and charged him with first-degree assault.
Minor allegedly attacked Foster with a knife during a "scuffle" in front of the residence, Jones said.
Police did not say what led up to the stabbing.
Minor will be transferred to Morgan County Jail, where he will be held in lieu of $1,500 bond.
