Decatur stabbing stemmed from argument, police say

A Wednesday night stabbing stemmed from an argument over "money and a vehicle," Decatur police said Thursday.

Al Versity Minor, 56, allegedly stabbed his nephew, Israel Montreal Foster, 30, twice with a 3-inch folding knife during the dispute at a residence on Old Moulton Road Southwest, police said.

Foster, who suffered wounds to his chest and shoulder, remained in fair condition in a regular room at Huntsville Hospital on Thursday, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Minor, of 1214 Skyview Drive S.W., is facing a charge of first-degree assault and remained in Morgan County Jail on Thursday in lieu of $1,500 bond.
