ATHENS — Two men face sex abuse charges in Limestone County, including a man a grand jury indicted 12 years ago but who just now landed behind bars.

In the first case, Oregon authorities found Doyle Robert Waters, 46, of 142 W. Bolz Road, Phoenix, Ore., the man a grand jury indicted in 1995, Sheriff's Department Chief Investigator Stanley McNatt said.

Waters allegedly fondled an 11-year-old girl in the home where he was staying, McNatt said.

Waters left Limestone County before the girl told authorities.

"Oregon authorities probably found him in a traffic stop or road block and saw we had a warrant for him," McNatt said.

In the second case, William Anthony Brooks, 40, of 15078 O'Neal Road, Athens, allegedly fondled the breasts of a 15-year-old girl. Investigator Jay Stinnett charged him Friday.

Both suspects are in the county jail without bond set.
