Former Riley staffer joins McCain campaign
MONTGOMERY (AP) — Another former member of Gov. Bob Riley’s staff has joined John McCain’s presidential campaign team in Alabama.
McCain announced Thursday that David Azbell will serve as a senior adviser to his exploratory committee in Alabama.
Azbell was press secretary for Riley’s 2002 campaign for governor.
He served in that role in Riley’s first administration before leaving to open a communications and consulting business.
McCain announced Tuesday that Riley’s campaign manager, Dax Swatek, would be a senior adviser to his Alabama committee.
