LifeSouth taking blood donations to ensure stable supply in region

ATHENS — North Alabama hospitals are working with LifeSouth Blood Mobile to ensure a stable blood supply.

On Wednesday and Thursday, LifeSouth will accept donations at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

Thursday’s site is in the emergency department parking lot between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The Friday site is the education department near the Sanders Street entrance from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Blood collected in North
Alabama stays in the region unless supply exceeds demand.

All donors will receive a recognition item and a cholesterol screening.

Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh at least 103 pounds and show valid photo identification.
