Inmate walks away from work-release

MOULTON — Lawrence County police are looking for an inmate who walked away from his work-release job Saturday in the Moulton area about 7 p.m.

A Sheriff’s Department spokesperson identified the inmate as Thomas Dewrell Turner, 22, of Moulton. He is a white male, 5 feet 10 and about 150 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information about Turner should call 974-9291.

Craig is finalist for Hoover office

Andy Craig, the former Decatur City Schools finance director, remains in the running for superintendent of Hoover City Schools. He joined the Hoover staff in 2001.

On Friday, the Hoover school board narrowed its search to Craig and Mark Edwards, vice president of business development for Harcourt Assessments who once served as dean of the College of Education at the University of North Alabama.
