Community black history celebration Saturday in Decatur

Decatur City Council President Billy Jackson will be among speakers for "Sound the Trumpet Celebration" at Progressive Outreach Ministry Saturday at 6 p.m. Other speakers and guests for the event honoring African American heritage in Decatur include Lt. Nadis Carlisle and the Rev. Joe Cater. The Women of Courage Dance Team will perform and Lena Warrior is program director.

Dinner will be served afterward. Reservations are required. Call 340-2020.
