Work progressing on superhighway
Alabama Department of Transportation officials updated newly elected members of the Legislature on Tuesday on progress of the Memphis-to-Atlanta superhighway running through North Alabama.
The DOT is working with consultants to assist with pinpointing the location of two sections running between Madison and Guntersville, and the DOT said it will use its own staff to pinpoint the 141/2-mile section that will cross the Tennessee River west of Decatur.
Rick Tucker, director of the Huntsville-Madison County Airport Authority, said other than the consultants, little has changed since the previous update meeting last fall, but it was a good time to review and
update the project with some of the newly elected officials.
