Meanwhile, Gustavo Moya, right, a first-timer to Saturday’s annual Kiwanis Pancake Day, eats with his family. During the years, Pancake Day has donated about $900,000 to a variety of local needs, such as building ballparks, band and other school programs, and scholarships. The all-you-can-eat meal ran from 5 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Decatur High School. Kiwanis expected to use 2,700 pounds of pancake mix and serve nearly 28,000 sausage patties and 50 gallons of syrup.
