Hundreds of residents turn out for Moulton's Taste of Our Town

MOULTON — Hundreds of area residents braved stormy weather Thursday evening to sample the region’s yummiest foods at the annual Taste of Our Town in Moulton.

Thirteen vendors participated in the event sponsored by the Moulton Civitans at the Moulton Recreation Center.

A panel of six judges chose the best items from five different categories.

The winners are as follows:

Best appetizer

First place: Sweet Sensations

Second place: Classic Catering

Third place: China Dragon

Best salad

First place: Sweet Sensations

Second place: The Hickory Barbecue

Third place: The Alabama Chicken and Egg Festival

Best bread

First place: Tony’s Country Cooking

Second place: Sweet Sensations

(no third-place winner)

Best entrée

First place: Sweet Sensations

Second place: Steak ’n’ Biscuit

Third place: Brandin Iron Steakhouse

Best dessert

First place: China Dragon

Second place: Sweet Sensations

Third place: Tony’s Country Cooking
