A moment of quiet reflection

An adult black-crowned night heron rests near Point Mallard on Flint Creek in January. This type of heron is found across North America, and usually nests in large wetlands.

According to Wikipedia, these birds stand at the water's edge and ambush prey, mainly at night. They winter in Mexico and southern parts of the U.S.
