House

  • Passed a bill to provide an appropriation of up to $79 million to rebuild two schools that were destroyed by a March 1 tornado in Enterprise. Goes to Senate.

  • Approved legislation to ban the practice of transferring campaign donations from one political action committee to another. Goes to Senate.

  • Passed a resolution commending Marvin Eugene and Myra Hammett, who celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary Wednesday. They are the parents of House Speaker Seth Hammett, D-Andalusia.

  • Recognized Rep. Oliver Robinson, D-Birmingham, who celebrated his 47th birthday Tuesday.

  • Discussed the legislative pay raise that was approved on Thursday.

  • Senate Governmental Affairs Committee approved a bill to allow stronger wines to be sold in grocery and convenience stores. Goes to Senate.

  • Senate Education Committee meets at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in Room 727 of the Statehouse to consider increasing the price of a “Helping Schools” license plate by $5.

  • House Public Safety Committee meets at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Room 602 to consider proposed legislation to allow cameras to be placed at intersections to catch motorists running red lights.

  • House Judiciary Committee meets at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Room 123.

  • House Government Operations Committee meets at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Room 622.

  • House Commerce Committee meets at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Room 621.

  • House Education Appropriations Committee meets at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Room 617.

  • Senate Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry Committee meets at 9:30 a.m. in Room 609A

  • House Health Committee meets at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Joint Briefing Room.

  • Senate Finance and Taxation-General Fund Committee meets at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Room 727 to consider increasing the per diem expenses for state employees when traveling inside the state.

  • House Internal Affairs Committee meets at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Room 601.

  • House Agriculture and Forestry Committee meets at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Room 603 to discuss proposed increases in the cost of hunting and fishing licenses.

  • House Committee on Boards and Commissions meets at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Room 601.

  • House Government Appropriations Committee meets at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Room 617.

  • House Banking and Insurance Committee meets at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Room 621.

  • House meets at 10 a.m. Thursday and Senate at 10 a.m.
