Oden, Ball greet McCain

MONTGOMERY – Two area legislators were among a group of about 150 Republican loyalists at a fundraiser for presidential hopeful John McCain on Tuesday.

Reps. Jeremy Oden, R-Eva, and Mike Ball, R- Madison, and state Republican leaders paid $50 per person to visit with McCain before his address to a joint session of the Legislature.

“It is a great day when John McCain comes to Alabama,” Oden said. “I think he is great.”

With his talk to the Legislature, the Arizona senator became to first presidential hopeful to address the Alabama Legislature since Ronald Regan in his 1984 bid for re-election to the White House.
