Old trailer destroyed

Decatur firefighters contain a mobile home fire Wednesday to one trailer and part of a second at Monty’s Mobile Home Movers on Alabama 24, across from McCollum’s Catfish and Seafood Restaurant.

Owner Monty Smith said an employee was burning trash and wind blew the flame toward an old trailer, igniting the exposed insulation. Smith said he removes old trailers, breaks them down and hauls them to the landfill.

Riley Brookshire, owner of the neighboring skate park, saw the flames and called 911.
