Woman & baby in trunk or not?
Shock of waking up in strange trailer prompts ramblings, trip back to Tenn.

ARDMORE — The reports kept getting wilder.

First a woman locked in a trunk.

Then a woman trapped with a baby in a trunk.

And then something about the combination of a birthday party and intoxication leading to a woman being in a trunk.

Sheriff Mike Blakely said it turned out to be the ramblings of a Tennessee woman who was "crazy or strung out on meth — or both."

On Tuesday night, a man that Blakely said was in his 70s or 80s, picked up a young woman in Pulaski, Tenn., and brought her back to his mobile home near Ardmore on Wooley Springs Road.

"She woke up (Wednesday morning) and started freaking out," Blakely said. "She probably had been doing crystal meth. She ran next door to a neighbor and said there was a woman with a baby in the trunk in one of the junk cars the man has in his yard."

The Oak Grove-Thach Volunteer Fire Department and a Limestone County deputy responded.

"They popped open all the trunks out there and didn't find any bodies," the sheriff said.

No one went to jail over the incident.

Blakely said the man had another female take the woman back to Tennessee before authorities arrived.
