Look what the drought dragged in

Low water levels Thursday led to a game warden spotting this truck in the backwater of the Tennessee River in Limestone County, north of the U.S. 31 causeway.

Chris Walker of Berzett Wrecker Service, left, and Limestone sheriff's deputy Donnie Johns oversee the pulling of the GMC Sonoma from the water.

Chief Investigator Stanley McNatt said the truck, covered in fishing lures and lines, had been in the water at least a year. It has no tag, and the vehicle identification number is unreadable.

He said it may be a stolen truck. Investigators are trying to locate the owner.
