HUNTSVILLE — The former captain of the starship Enterprise will be beaming into the city where boldly going where no man has gone before got its start.

Emmy Award-winning actor William Shatner will be the master of ceremonies at the Space Camp Hall of Fame Induction Banquet on June 13 at the Von Braun Center.

Shatner, who currently stars as absent-minded attorney Denny Crane on the ABC series "Boston Legal," is best known for portraying Capt. James T. Kirk for three seasons on the original "Star Trek" TV series and in seven subsequent "Star Trek" films.

Tickets for the event are on sale at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center and at www.spacecamp.com.

To mark the 25th anniversary of Space Camp, the Space and Rocket Center will honor distinguished graduates, former employees and friends of the Space Camp program. Up to 10 nominees will be inducted into the Space Camp Hall of Fame. A committee will choose from nominations submitted by the public. Nominations for this year's inductees will be accepted until March 31, and nomination forms are available at the Space Camp Web site.

Astronauts Jim Halsell and Story Musgrave will join Shatner in congratulating inductees.

The banquet surges to warp speed at 7 p.m. Tickets for individuals are $150, and corporate seating is available at $1,500 per table of eight. Discounted prices are available for Space Camp alumni, and all ticket buyers will receive a special souvenir ticket. The event is black-tie optional.
