4 arrested after fight at Alabama A&M campus

HUNTSVILLE (AP) — Four people were arrested on disorderly conduct charges as Huntsville police and sheriff's deputies helped Alabama A&M University officers break up a fight at a campus event attended by several thousand.

Campus police were overwhelmed when the disturbance broke out around 7:30 p.m. Thursday and called for help, city police Lt. Randy Owens said. There were no serious injuries, but two female students sprayed in the face with Mace were treated at a hospital.

Owens said a fraternity show involving plays and skits was taking place when the fight erupted.

A bottle thrown as part of a skit broke, and a piece of the bottle hit a member of another fraternity, he said.
