State highway crews on Monday will begin some $250,000 in repairs to the Interstate 65 bridges over the Tennessee River.
A spokesman for the Alabama Department of Transportation said the roadwork could go on for as long as 10 weeks.
The work will be going on from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. During the work, one lane in each direction should always be open.
Crews will repair concrete caps and supports, replace steel braces and joint seals.
The northbound and southbound I-65 bridges, which opened in 1973, are about two miles long.
