Meow Mix not part of Del Monte recall

As a precaution, Del Monte Pet Products is voluntarily recalling select pet treat products.

Del Monte owns Meow Mix, a dry cat food made entirely in Decatur, but Meow Mix is not part of the recall.

The recalled brands include Jerky Treats, Gravy Train Beef Sticks and Pounce Meaty Morsels brands, as well as select dog snack and wet dog food products sold under private label brands. The affected products make up less than one-tenth of 1 percent of Del Monte Pet Productsí annual pet food and pet treat production.

The Food and Drug Administration said wheat gluten supplied to Del Monte from China contained melamine, which is not approved for use in food.

Customers will receive refunds for all returned products, Del Monte said. Customers can visit www.delmonte.com or call its consumer hot line at (800) 949-3799.

This is a complete list of affected brands and products:
