ATHENS — Athens police arrested a Poff Lane man Thursday for allegedly raping
and fondling a 7-year-old girl.

Quentin Alexander Henderson, 24, of 20126 Poff Lane is in Limestone County Jail on two counts of rape first-degree and one count of first-degree sexual abuse, according to a police report.

No bond has been set.

The report said the rapes and sexual abuse occurred between Dec. 1, 2006, and April 5, when Henderson would occasionally baby-sit the girl.

The victim told a school nurse about the alleged abuse, and she reported it to Alabama Department of Human Resources.

The child was examined at Athens-Limestone Hospital emergency room.

Detective Dustin Lansford investigated the case.

Lansford brought in Henderson for questioning. The report said Henderson admitted to raping the child.
