Man, 2 sons found dead in Macon pond
TUSKEGEE (AP) — A father and his two sons apparently drowned in a Macon County pond during a weekend outing.
Macon County Coroner Hal Bentley identified the victims Monday as the father, Jose Rodriquez, whose age was not available, and sons Joshua Delgado, 7, and Asher Delgado, 6.
Victims on golf cart
Bentley said one or all three were on a golf cart that apparently went into the pond Saturday.
The bodies were recovered Sunday after the golf cart was found in the water Saturday afternoon.
Bentley said it appears to be "a tragic accident," but a final determination on the cause of death will be determined by state forensics officials.
Tuskegee Mayor Johnny Ford said they were from a family well-known in the Little Texas community, where the pond is located.
He said the victim's family told rescue workers the father couldn't swim.
