Motorcycle rally to benefit center

The Morgan County Child Advocacy Center invites motorcycle enthusiasts to ride in its second annual fundraiser Saturday.

The 2007 Motorcycle Rally for Children includes a 100-mile ride through Bankhead National Forest, a barbecue dinner, cycle displays and a concert by Jeff Whitlow.

The center, which helps Morgan County’s abused children, opened last summer. It has served 72 youths since August.

The ride will leave the Elk’s Lodge on Centron Drive Southwest at 10 a.m. and return at 2 p.m. The dinner begins at 6 with the concert to follow at 7.

Displays will include the Alabama’s Vietnam Memorial, some show bikes and cycles from Allsport Yamaha.

The ride costs $25 for individual riders and $35 for doubles. Dinner/concert tickets are $10. Individual barbecue plates are $7 and will be available at lunch.

To buy tickets or for more information call the center at 355-1908 or Hartselle police at 751-4912.
