More charges for allegedly drugged mom

ATHENS — Authorities have filed additional charges against an Ardmore woman who Sheriff Mike Blakely said left two children home alone at night and drove with a third child while under the influence.

Beverly Shea Ziegler, who turned 27 Wednesday, is in jail in lieu of $8,000 bond, charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and possession of a controlled substance. A deputy arrested her Monday night on public intoxication and learned she was driving with her 2-year-old son while taking mislabeled and unprescribed medication, Blakely said.

Ziegler also left two children, ages 3 and 4, alone in an unlocked house on Bell Road, Blakely said. Ziegler lives at 26800 Bottoms Road.
