Not a good day

Decatur police said this unusual wreck took place when one driver, attempting to park his car in a parking lot on Wimberley Drive Southwest, ran into the parking lot of the apartment complex next door at about 3 p.m. Monday.

The car driven by Eliseo Solares, who did not have a driver license, crossed about six feet of grass between the two lots and used the car Freddie Jones, hands on head, bought a month ago as a ramp, police said.

"He (Solares) went up on the quarter panel. Somehow, his tire got on top of the Mustang's tire, and that's all it took to propel it on over. You can actually see the rubber on the Mustang's window where it crawled up the window," said Officer Jeff Bailey.

"He had to hit it just right to get on its side. That was 'Dukes of Hazard' parking there." Bailey said he cited Solares for no proof of insurance and a tow truck hauled away his car.
