Guliani plans Tuscaloosa campaign stop
TUSCALOOSA (AP) — Republican presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani will make a campaign stop in Tuscaloosa on May 9.
Giuliani will speak at 7 a.m. at the Bryant Conference Center at an event organized by the Tuscaloosa County Republican Party, party secretary John Merrill said.
The event is open to the public, but tickets must be obtained from the county party. About 800 people will be admitted, Merrill said. The former New York mayor was last in Alabama on April 11, when he spoke at $1,000 per person fundraisers in Mobile and Montgomery and addressed the Alabama Legislature. Alabama's presidential primary is Feb. 5.
"We're trying to get as many candidates as we can to come to Tuscaloosa so our people can get to know the candidates personally," Merrill said.
