Shooting took place outside of store, BBQ owner says

Jerry Nash, owner of Nash BBQ, said he was at his bar when a bullet hit a customer in the leg early Saturday.

A fight had broken out in the place at about 1:30 a.m., according to the victim and a police officer who was nearby.

Nash said the shot was not actually fired inside the bar, but outside, where the group was fighting.

"I was there at the door, and people were fighting in the street, and that's when the gunshot went off," Nash said.

Nash said he felt a Daily story Tuesday in which police said the victim realized he was bleeding as he exited the bar left it unclear where the shot had been fired.
