Nurses to present symposium in Decatur

Area nurse practitioners will present a nursing symposium May 5 at the Decatur Utilities building on Central Parkway.

Kathryn Teare will direct the program, which will include Susan Alexander on diabetes, Casey West on hypertension and Liz Cumbie on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Also, Dr. Scott Harris will talk about infectious diseases.

The registration fee is $40. Speakers are donating their time, and profits will go to the Community Free Clinic of Decatur-Morgan County.

Decatur General Hospital is awarding 7.2 hours of continuing education credit for the program, which is designed for registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and advanced practical nurses.
