6 students receive Daikin minority scholarships

Daikin America announces its six recipients of its 2007 minority scholarships.

Each student will receive $3,000 to help with school expenses.

A panel of judges, who included Daikin and Decatur youth workers, picked six Morgan County students out of about 40 who applied. The recipients:

  • Crystal Brown, a 2007 Austin High School graduate and current freshman at Xavier University of Louisiana.

  • Jessica Castillo, a 2005 Austin High School graduate and current sophomore at The University of Alabama at Birmingham.

  • Teronica Gaiter, a 2006 Austin High School graduate and current sophomore enrollee at Auburn University.

  • Veneah Hall, a 2007 Austin High School graduate and current freshman at The University of Alabama in Birmingham.

  • Kyneshia Hubbard, a 2005 Decatur High School graduate and current sophomore at The University of Alabama at Birmingham.

  • Mallory King, a 2006 Austin High School graduate and current sophomore enrollee at the University of North Alabama.
