Spring racking horse championship Saturday in Priceville

PRICEVILLE — The front-runner for the 2007 racking horse world grand champion could emerge Saturday night during the finals for the 36th annual Spring Celebration.

The final class at Celebration Arena will compete for the show's grand championship as well as $500 in prize money. The winner often turns out to be one of the best horses of the racking show season and becomes a top contender to carry the roses at the World Celebration in September.

The show begins at 6:30 p.m. and will include 17 judged classes. Admission is $5 per person and free for children 6 and under. Parking is $3.

In addition to the show, Celebration Arena will have an open horse sale at 11 a.m.

The arena is off Alabama 67, three miles south of Interstate 65.
