Not Much Doubt wins Racking Horse Championship title

PRICEVILLE — A horse called Not Much Doubt claimed the Racking Horse Spring Celebration championship late Saturday night, laying claim as a front-runner for the world grand championship in September.
The 5-year-old stallion beat out two other horses and was the top pick of all three judges. Michael Wright trained the horse for owner Jenna Sue Lakes of McKee, Ky.
Placing second was The Steppin Wolf, owned by Herbert Weiler Jr. of Vandalia, Ohio.
Third place went to Impulsive, owned by Cheryl Moseley of Marion Junction.
Not Much Doubt qualified for Saturdayís final by winning the 15.2-and-under class Friday night.
The horse has been an up-and-comer for a few years. He won the 3-year-old world grand championship in 2004 and was the reserve 4-year-old world grand champion in 2005.
Spring Celebration is the breedís second biggest of the year.
The biggest one is the Racking Horse World Celebration in September.
Both events are at Celebration Arena in Priceville.
