The Goodwill Store on U.S. 31 sells donated items. A reader complained because people apparently make a mess rummaging through the items before they are carried inside.

Hiding in plain sight

Location: 2608 U.S. 31 S.

Description: Goodwill Store is a mess on the outside every Monday morning, a complaining reader said. The collection boxes overflow with donations. Then people rummage through them and make a bigger mess.

Property owner: An employee of the store gave the property owner’s name, but The Daily was not able to verify the information.

Ordinance: Enforcement officer David Lee was not available for comment.

Responsible officials: District 3 City Councilman Gary Hammon said he has not received any complaints but will check out the situation.
