Paving for peddlers

Christopher Baugher and crews from Shelby Contracting Co. started laying asphalt Monday for the second phase of the Dr. Bill Sims Bike Trail.

The paved path will stretch from Alabama 20 to Eighth Street Southwest at Central Parkway, mostly following close to the CSX Railroad tracks.

Part of the $349,000 project is delayed by a right-of-way dispute with CSX. The city hopes to settle the issue this week.
