HARTSELLE — Two people face charges of making methamphetamine and endangering the welfare of a child after drug agents found a meth lab and a 13-year-old at their residence, Sheriff Greg Bartlett said Thursday.
The 310 Gilchrist St. S.W. home of David Lee Green, 50, and Vicki Mitchell Green, 47, which county Drug Task Force agents raided Wednesday, contained numerous chemicals used in making meth, said Lt. Howard Battles. "You name it, they had some of it," he said.
Battles said agents found most of the contraband in a large shop behind the house.
Agents charged the Greens with first-degree manufacture of a controlled substance and also invoked the Drug-Endangered Child Act. The juvenile was turned over to the Department of Human Resources, Battles said.
Hartselle police and the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board assisted in the search. Hartselle firefighters assisted with the decontamination process.
The Greens remained in Morgan County Jail on Thursday in lieu of $41,000 bond each.
