Limestone County school board OKs building 10 portables

ATHENS — To meet enrollment needs, the county school system plans to build 10 portables for the 2007-08 school year.

On Thursday, the Limestone County Board of Education approved the construction.

Superintendent Barry Carroll said the schools that will need the portables include Piney Chapel and Creekside elementaries and Tanner and Clements high schools. Clements already has nine portables, and a new elementary school for that area is part of the five-year capital plan.
