Owner of house featured in Daily says it's no eyesore

The owner of a house that appeared recently in a newspaper report said his property is not an eyesore.

Cecil Parker's home at 1509 Magnolia St. S.E. was part of a "hiding in plain sight" report in the May 13 edition after neighbors complained.

A photo with the story showed a motor home and a pile of sand behind the house. The article said the motor home does not have a tag.

Parker said the motor home has a 2007 tag. He said the pile of sand is for bricks that are being installed on his house.

According to the city Building Department, Parker bought a permit in August 2006 to enclose his carport and make it into a room, and to do some general repairs.

The last inspection was April 25 to review the framing. The inspection passed. Also, he said, he has a wooden fence in the backyard.
