Huntsville man charged in death of homeless woman
HUNTSVILLE (AP) — A Huntsville man has been arrested and charged with murder in the 2004 beating death of a homeless woman.
Omega Johnson, 42, who was picked up in Orange Beach on the Alabama coast, was booked Friday into the Madison County jail, police said.
Johnson was charged in the February 2004 slaying of 43-year-old Isabelle Pam. According to police, DNA evidence led to the arrest. Johnsonís bond was set at $100,000.
Huntsville Police Chief Henry Reyes said the victim was found dead behind a building in Huntsville.
Johnsonís DNA also has been linked to another Huntsville homicide and more charges are expected, police said.
The name of the victim in the second case was not immediately released.
