2 men rob Hispanic grocery at gunpoint
Police are searching for two men who held up a Hispanic grocery store Sunday afternoon, Decatur police said. Two unknown Hispanic men, described by the clerk as "one fat and one skinny," entered Fiesta Latina at 125 Austinville Road S.W. at about 4:15 p.m., said Sgt. Steve Campbell, a police spokesman. While the larger man distracted the clerk by having her ring up a can of coconut juice, the other man went behind the counter and put a pistol to her head, Campbell said. He kept telling her they "only needed the money," Campbell said. With an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, the two left the store on foot toward Cardinal Apartments, Campbell said. - Seth Burkett
