The city of Decatur owns this overgrown cul-de-sac on Hillside Road Southwest.

Hiding in plain sight

Location: Hillside Road Southwest.

Description: A reader complained about an overgrown cul-de-sac.

Property owner: The city of Decatur owns this property.

Ordinance: The ordinance requires the owner or any person in control of or in charge of any real property located within the city to maintain any weeds, grass, or non-ornamental plant growth growing upon that property in such a manner as not to constitute a nuisance.

Responsible officials: The city of Decatur Parks and Recreation Maintenance Department is in charge of keeping the city's plant growth maintained. Brett Mullins from the Parks and Recreation Maintenance Department said the cul-de-sac was accidentally left off the maintenance schedule, and he would have the property mowed within the week.
