Man charged with false robbery report

A man faces charges of filing a false robbery report to cover up having purchased fake pills, Decatur police said Tuesday.

Steven Ryan Roden, 26, of 2818 Wimberly Drive, Apartment B-3, told police he had been robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot of Taco Bell on Beltline Road Southwest on Saturday night, police said.

Detective Lela Alexander said she arrested Roden after her investigation revealed no robbery took place.
