Somerville to hear input on sewer grant

SOMERVILLE — The Somerville Town Council will convene in a called meeting for a public hearing Monday at 6 p.m., according to Mayor Ray Long.

Long said the council will hear input from residents on the town's application for a United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development sewer grant.

"We applied for the grant in February," Long said.

"We want to be ready in case we hear something, to have everything completed and to have taken all the necessary steps," he said. "One of those
requirements is a public hearing."

Long said there is no way of knowing when word on the grant might come.

"We waited and waited on information about a grant for restoration of the courthouse," he said. "It finally came, but we didn't get it."
