Taking a swing at cancer

Decatur General Foundation's fourth annual golf classic, presented by Coca-Cola, hits the links at Point Mallard today. Proceeds will help purchase radiation therapy equipment for Decatur General Oncology Center.

Each four-person team paid $400 to play in the tourney. More than 50 volunteers and 100 sponsors make the tournament a reality. These include Dr. Ken Chandler, left, chairman of the tourney, and Randy Troup, right, representing Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Decatur.

They made final preparations with Point Mallard Golf Pro Charlie Krenkel, center.
