Hartselle police arrest 4 after search of house

HARTSELLE — While serving a search warrant Friday, members of the Hartselle Special Response Team arrested four people on various drug charges, including the homeowner.

Lt. Justin Barley said Jeffrey C. Sharpley, 49, of 505 Marvin St. is in the Morgan County Jail on $1,000 bond, charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers arrested Sharpley in his home after finding a “small amount of crack cocaine,” Barley said.

Officers also arrested Michelle Powers, 31, of 1242 Beltline Road S.W. and Amanda D. Twilley, 23, and Jason H. South, 29, both of 1620 Morgan County 1391, Falkville.

They were charged with loitering in a drug house and released on $300 city bond each.

Barley said the house had no utility services and was “in unsuitable living conditions.”

He said officers notified the city building inspector and he condemned the house.
