Ex-director of state fire college indicted
BIRMINGHAM (AP) — The former head of the Alabama Fire College was indicted on federal fraud and conspiracy charges for allegedly fleecing the school's foundation of more than $385,000 to pay for a home, furnishings, a motorcycle trailer and private-school tuition for his grandsons.
William Langston, who resigned as executive director of the Tuscaloosa-based school last year, was accused of fraud, conspiracy and theft in the 37-count indictment.
