Riley names parole board chairman
MONTGOMERY (AP) — Gov. Bob Riley appointed longtime federal probation officer Bill Wynne chairman of the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles.
Wynne of Daphne served in 2005 and 2006 on a special Pardons and Paroles Board set up to help relieve overcrowding in Alabama prisons.
He worked as a U.S. Probation Officer for the federal courts' southern district in Alabama for 29 years.
Wynne replaces Sydney Williams of Montgomery, whose term expired on June 30.
